FLUID

WITH SARAH LEE

Interior of a room with a modern, teal velvet sofa with rounded edges and a concentric design, and a geometric wall art piece resembling mountain or abstract landscape in shades of blue, white, and gray.

For the sculptural works „FLUID“ three photos show different physical states of water : reflecting waves and underwater bubbles and water-streams. The fluid movements of water are solidified into solid, threedimensional sculptures and ‘frozen in time’ .

The fragmented surface of the sculptural object creates a new layer of light and shadows on the photo, similar to the reflecting sunlight on the turbulent waves of the ocean.

The veneer wood is cut by lasercutting into small tiles which are then applied by hand to the textile base. The photos are printed on the surface of the hybrid material.
